MILLEDGEVILLE — Communities In Schools of Georgia was awarded $20,000 from the Walmart Foundation as part of the Associates Choice Program with the local affiliates benefiting from the donation, including CIS of Milledgeville-Baldwin County (CISMBC).
The official check presentation was held at Eagle Ridge Elementary School Friday.
The Walmart Foundation sponsored the annual Associate Choice Program in all 50 states. Thousands of Walmart associates used their employee benefits website to cast a vote for the nonprofit they felt was most deserving of a grant. Based on the submitted nonprofits, the winning organization was awarded monetary contributions from the voting.
Through the state-wide award, CISMBC will be able to offer free training for local teachers from AlphaSkills geared to the core curriculum.
