MILLEDGEVILLE —
Early voting will get under way Monday at the Baldwin County Courthouse.
Voters will choose in several statewide races and will decide who will be elected to the next Baldwin County Board of Education.
Current BOE representative for the 1st District, Wilbur Manson, is being challenged by Gloria Wicker and Donna V. Hurt. Current board chair Jeff McAfee of the 5th District faces a challenge from Wes Cummings and Ulysess G. Foston Sr.
Voters will also choose between incumbent state Rep. Rusty Kidd (I) and challenger Quentin T. Howell (D) for the 141st District in the Georgia House of Representatives. Incumbent state Sen. Johnny Grant (R) will face former state senator and Milledgeville mayor Floyd Griffin (D) in the race for the 25th District in the Georgia Senate.
Voters in the 12th Congressional District will also vote to send either incumbent John Barrow (D-Savannah) or challenger Ray McKinney (R-Lyons) to the 112th Congress while voters in the 8th Congressional District will choose between incumbent Jim Marshall (D-Macon) or challenger Austin Scott (R-Tifton).
Voters who take advantage of early voting will need to bring a valid form of identification, which includes a Georgia driver’s license, a valid voter identification card, a valid United States passport, a government-issued employee identification card, a United States military identification card or a valid tribal identification card. All forms of identification must include a photograph of the voter.
Voters have access to sample ballots through the Baldwin County Registrar’s Office or through a special program on the Georgia Secretary of State’s website entitled MVP (My Voter Page). Visit sos.georgia.gov and click on the elections page. Find the MVP (My Voter Page) icon. Click on that and enter the proper information to find polling information regarding registration, voter identification requirements and precinct locations. Voters may also download a sample ballot.
The November general election is scheduled for Tuesday, Nov. 2.
