Alyssa Amerson no-hits region foe Glascock as GMC Prep continues to play sharp ball

Lady Bulldogs also top Montgomery County 5-2 in Johnson County tournament

Playing like an elite team on a mission, the GMC Prep Lady Bulldogs walloped rival Glascock County 15-0 in highly anticipated region action Thursday in Gibson.

The Lady Bulldogs and superstar pitcher Alyssa Amerson put on a clinic on how to take control of an opponent with a brilliant mix of expert pitching and pinpoint hitting.

For the game, Amerson pitched a no-hitter, registering four strikeouts in three innings of work. The Lady Bulldogs also had a plethora of solid hitters Thursday and were led by the dynamic due of Kaylee Johnson and Kaylee Fuller. Johnson led the team in overall hitting, batting 3 for 3 with three RBI. Fuller led the team in runs batted in, finishing with four on a 2 for 3 performance. Other notables include Whitney Hardie who ended the day batting 1 for 2 with two RBI, and Alix Durden who finished by going 2 for 3 with one RBI.

Krista Lanzilotta also had a terrific game, batting 1 for 2 with an RBI, as well as teammate Adrienne Couey who batted a perfect 1 for 1.

On Monday, GMC lost a tough one to West Laurens by the close score of 3-1 in their opening game of the Johnson County tourney. The leading hitters in the game were Alyssa Amerson, who did everything she could by going 2 for 2. Adrienne Couey also came away with a hit in the contest.

The Bulldogs also battled hard, but dropped a close one to Johnson County in the tournament by a score of 4-2. Alyssa Amerson pitched a fine game, but the Bulldog bats needed a little more punch.
