MILLEDGEVILLE —
The man responsible for a Southside convenience store hold up Monday night was taken into custody Tuesday. Curtis Mack Anderson, 47, was transferred to the Baldwin County Sheriff's Office, after Macon authorities found him.
Anderson entered the Jet Food Store on 2015 Irwington Rd. around 9:30 p.m. Monday. He held the clerk and manager at gunpoint with a semi-automatic pistol, stealing an undetermined amount of cash.
Both store attendents were forced to the back room store cooler and locked in by Anderson. The suspect arrived and left on foot.
“Both clerks recognized him and knew him by name,” Capt. Brad King said. “They gave a good physical and clothing description, which we confirmed with people that had seen him earlier in the day.”
Anderson was staying in a Macon hotel, where he was apprehended by Macon Police and then transferred to Bibb County.
Anderson already had state probation and misdemeanor warrants outstanding. King said charges of armed robbery, aggravated assault and a kidnapping would be added.
The 47-year-old has a 34-page criminal history, according to King.
