MILLEDGEVILLE — Oak Hill Middle School sixth-graders learned about the various types of a community and how drugs, crime and gangs can negatively impact a school, home and working community during Wednesday’s G.R.E.A.T. (Gang Resistance Education and Training) program.
Kicking off in early January, Lt. Etta Gray of the Milledgeville Police Department has been leading the educational prevention program and will continue encouraging youth to set goals, form positive relationships and avoid delinquent behavior throughout the school year.
Having learned about the truths and myths of gangs last week, nearly 60 sixth-graders will discuss how to set goals during class next week.
