Sonrise Corner Thrift Store’s profits are helping to cover Sinclair Christian Academy’s “Miracle Building” fund and other school expenses incurred.
As a ministry of Sinclair Baptist Church, Sonrise sells an assortment of brand new and slightly used items, including men, women and children’s clothing, toys, dishes, books, tools, electronics, furniture and other knickknacks.
Individuals donating items to the nonprofit can receive a receipt to be used as a tax write-off.
As of Wednesday, the nonprofit raised more than $2,500 for SCA with a goal of collecting at least $1,000 per week in order to keep on track.
Open from 9 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Tuesday through Friday and 7:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday, the store is located at 361 S. Wayne St., across from CVS Pharmacy.
