5-20 GCSU gets visit from chancellor

The chancellor for the University System of Georgia made his first visit to Georgia College & State University Friday and said his initial impression was definitely favorable.

“You can’t come away with anything other than being impressed with an institution in the midst of an evolution. It’s just wonderful to see the trajectory that it’s on,” said Errol B. Davis Jr.

GCSU marks stop number 27 for Davis, who is touring the state’s 35 public colleges and universities. Davis plans to complete his visit to all the institutions by mid-June.

Davis said he was “impressed” with the quality of faculty and students at GCSU and looks forward to returning in the future for an opportunity to explore the city and meet local officials.
