Baldwin County Sheriff’s Office

— Attempted burglary

A woman discovered someone trying to enter her Frank Bone Road home Friday morning through the rear window and rear sliding doors. When she yelled at the man, he ran away, a sheriff’s report states.

— Theft

Someone stole a brass door knob worth $20 and a wooden porch swing worth $100 from a home off Ga. Highway 22 East between April 30 and Thursday, a sheriff’s report states.

— Auto theft

Someone stole a Buick LeSabre worth $3,000 early Saturday morning from a Sparta Highway home. The car was discovered in Hancock County, a sheriff’s report states.

— Giving false name

Edward Quentin Jones, 38, of New Street in Sparta, was arrested and charged with one count of giving a false name and information when a sheriff’s deputy discovered Jones Saturday night sleeping in a car parked at College Station Apartments on North Wilkinson Street. Jones was wanted for two bench warrants and one child support warrant, a sheriff’s report states.



Milledgeville Police Department

— Lost cell phone

A Milledgeville resident reported losing a Verizon LG phone valued at $400 sometime around 1:30 p.m. Friday. The last time the individual remembered using the phone was at the Jet Food Store on North Columbia Street earlier that day, a police report states.

— Theft by taking

A woman stated she was eating at Dairy Queen around 3 p.m. Saturday when her dark-colored purse that had been sitting next to her disappeared. The woman stated she had never left it unattended but that it was gone. Police checked a surveillance videotape and the area around where the woman was sitting but were unable to find the purse, a police report states. The purse contained two diamond rings, a diamond watch with initials CWY&DO; on the back, two checkbooks, a driver’s license and a gas station credit card, a police report states.

— Missing jewelry

A Sussex Court resident stated a two carat diamond ring had gone missing from her residence sometime between May 10 and May 18, a police report states. The ring was set in a butterfly shape with two larger stones in the center and two smaller stones on each side and had been stored in a small red or pink envelope type container. The ring had a value of around $14,000 to $20,000, a police report states.
