MILLEDGEVILLE — A $17 million construction project is scheduled to begin by Aug. 30 at the Milledgeville campus of Central Georgia Technical College. The 70,000 square-foot Center for Health Sciences building will be constructed adjacent to the main building and is expected to be able to offer classes in January 2013 for spring semester. The three-story facility will house health care programs and workforce training while comfortably enrolling approximately 1,600 students. New programs introduced to CGTC and the local campus include neuromuscular therapy, pharmacy technology, health care specialist and clinical laboratory technology. All medical-related classes currently in the main building will move to the new building while the then 68,000 square-foot space will allow for the expansion of administrative offices, financial aid, career assessment, admissions and student affairs while giving adult education classes a permanent location. For more information about CGTC and classes offered, visit www.centralgeorgiatech.edu.
