MILLEDGEVILLE —
Four people were sentenced in U.S. District Court last week for their roles in a cocaine distribution ring that has been linked to Mexican drug cartel.
Michael M. Reeves, Shawanna Reeves, Leroy Hill Sr. and Tommy Hill were all sentenced by U.S. District Court Judge Marc Treadwell following a case that resulted from a multi-year investigation involving multiple local, state and national law enforcement agencies.
Michael Reeves received a 30-year sentence to be followed with five years of supervised release. Shawanna Reeves received an 80-month sentence to be followed by supervised release. Leroy Hill Sr. received a 108-month sentence to be followed by supervised release and Tommy Hill received a 36-month sentence to be followed by supervised release.
The Telegraph reports that hundreds of pounds of marijuana and about $1 million in cocaine were seized when the group was taken into custody.
A fifth person, Thornton Moss, will be sentenced June 16.
