Art has no bounds for local performers

MILLEDGEVILLE — Creative Expressions recently presented a tribute to The Beatles at the Goldstein Center in downtown Milledgeville.

“There are several groups here performing, and they have all come up with tons of innovative ideas for expressions, despite their challenges,” said Mark Toole, a music therapy graduate student at Georgia College. “Since I haven’t been involved with any one particular group this semester, I was asked to [serve as master of ceremonies] and I’ve loved it.”

Creative Expressions’ motto is “We’re more alike than different.” Their recent show was filled with the hauntingly beautiful melodies of The Beatles, along with the passionate spirits of the performers.

“Every year we focus on a different theme for our show. All of the songs have special meanings. We decided to do The Beatles because so many people love the songs, and a lot of people don’t realize how many songs The Beatles actually did that were remade by other artists,” said Georgia College student Katie Whipple, one of the recent show’s directors.
