ATLANTA —
Airport officials say Air Cargo Germany flew into Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport for the first time.
Air Cargo Germany arrived at the airport shortly after 3:30 a.m. Friday. The airline's first departure was given a water-cannon salute by Atlanta Fire Rescue trucks.
The airline will fly between Atlanta and Germany twice a week. The flights will use the airline's Boeing 747F aircraft.
The flights will connect cargo with locations in Russia, Central Asia and Africa, and throughout Europe by truck.
