MILLEDGEVILLE —
Judge Mablean Ephriam will visit the historic Flagg Chapel Baptist Church to share insights from her life experience and sign copies of her first book, "Judge Mablean's Life Lessons: 52 Tools for Weekly Living."
Ephriam is best known as the former host of the syndicated television program Divorce Court and from appearances in Tyler Perry movies playing herself.
Ephriam will be at Flagg Chapel Monday, Feb. 20, at the church annex beginning at 4:30 p.m. A reception will be held to welcome Ephriam to the historic church, one of the oldest African-American congregations in the nation.
Organizer Yvonne Ferrell said she hopes the community will extend southern hospitality to Ephriam, a native of Mississippi.
Milledgeville Mayor Richard Bentley will also issue a proclamation Monday. Ferrell said she hopes she hopes for a big turnout for the event.
Ephriam was born in Hazlehurst, Miss. the ninth of 10 children. She attended Pitzer College on a full scholarship and eventually earned a law degree while successfully balancing law school with a job as a legal secretary and the demands of family.
