Creative Expressions presents 'All About Us' musical showcase

MILLEDGEVILLE — Creative Expressions showcased a musical concert called ‘All About Us’ for friends, families and the community Thursday morning in the Goldstein Center for Performing Arts at Georgia Military College. Performers with disabilities wrote, sang and played instruments to their own original songs. Creative Expressions is a collaborative community music therapy program between the Life Enrichment Center  and the music therapy department at  Georgia College with a mission to advocate, celebrate and educate the broader community about individuals with developmental disabilities.

    When Dianna Hornsby Perdue returned from her second trip to Haiti in December 2012, she grew inspired and motivated to help make a difference in the lives of less fortunate Haitian educators, children and families. With the support of husband Jared Perdue, Dianna established her own nonprofit organization to provide L.O.V.E. (Life, Opportunity, Verse and Education) for Haiti.

    Baldwin High School senior band member Michael Watson put Fine Arts and Band Director Clint Raburn’s 13 years in perspective.
    “I don’t think there is a student who’s come through the band program that hasn’t been touched by Mr. Raburn in some way,” Watson said. “He pushed the program further that it had ever gone and got results.”
