Local students compete in tech fair

MILLEDGEVILLE — Area students participated in the annual Oconee RESA regional competition of the Georgia Educational Technology Fair at Georgia Military College Prep School Wednesday.

Students in grades 3 through 12 from Baldwin High School, Oak Hill Middle School, Blandy Hills Elementary School, Creekside Elementary School, Eagle Ridge Elementary School, Midway Elementary School, Georgia College Early College and GMC Prep went up against 14 other schools from surrounding counties.

Students can work in teams of two or individually in up to two categories based on their interest. This year’s categories included, 3-D modeling, animated graphic design, multimedia applications, technology and literacy challenge, hardware, case modification and digital video production.

The 26 Judges for the fair were technology and media specialists from the various schools.

All first-place winners recognized at regional technology fairs across the state will advance to the state level which is to be held at Macon State College March 10.
