MILLEDGEVILLE —
The culmination of a 30-year career as an architecture photographer will be on display this Sunday as and exhibit by photographer Alan McGee opens at the Marlor House Gallery.
McGee spent thirty years traveling across the United States taking photos of buildings, skylines, interiors and landscapes performing his work as an architecture photographer, a profession he found when two interests converged.
McGee said he was told early on during his architecture studies he would make a better photographer than architect. He quickly discovered he could also make money doing something he loved. Then based in Atlanta, from there, a career ensued, taking him to 46 states and six countries where he shot buildings, often having to wait for the perfect weather conditions.
His exhibition will open Sunday, February 19 from 1 until 3 p.m. at the Marlor Center Gallery, 201 North Wayne Street, Milledgeville. At 2 p.m. McGee will present a gallery lecture to accompany the show and discuss his work. The public is invited to the opening reception.
McGee is an award winning artist whose works have been published in numerous architectural magazines
The Marlor House gallery hours are Monday - Friday, 9 a.m. until 4:30 p.m. or by appointment. There is no admission fee charged to visit the gallery. The exhibition will be on display through Friday, March 16. Call Allied Arts at (478) 452-3950 or visit milledgevillealliedarts.com for more information.
