In 1951 songwriter Meredith Wilson decided to do something about the holidays and wrote the lyrics to “It’s Beginning To Look Like Christmas.”
While the song is now known as “It’s Beginning To Look A Lot Like Christmas” and has been recorded by numerous artists such as Perry Como, those words still ring true for people like Ernest Quinn of Devereux in Hancock County.
The Quinns have been raising Christmas trees on the family property since 1983 and selling trees to the public since 1989.
The story behind the family farm, which has seen two generations of Quinns work on the property, begins more than 20 years ago when Ernest’s parents, Erma and Buddy Quinn, ran a general store near the farm.
