MILLEDGEVILLE —  

Maddox Investing in America Inc. will be feeding needy families a hot meal for Thanksgiving. For more information about how you can help, contact (478) 453-2221 or visit their office at 133 Old River Bridge Road. There is no donation too big or too small.

The Baldwin County Fire Rescue is collecting toys for its third annual Kids-Yule-Love Toy Drive. The follow stations are drop points: Allen Memorial Drive, Central State Hospital campus, Carr Station Road, Highway 22 and Lovers Lane and Log Cabin Road. The Lemon Tree downtown and Dr. William Lee’s office, 2715 N. Columbia, are also drop points. Toy collection will run until Dec. 18.

Flu vaccines are now available at the Baldwin County Health Department. They will offer both the traditional flu shot and Flu Mist, which is a nasal spray. Vaccines will cost $25 but are available at no charge to those on Medicaid, Peachcare, Wellcare, Amerigroup, Medicare Part B, Blue Cross Blue Shield of Georgia or a State Benefit Plan through United Healthcare or Cigna. Flu vaccines will also be offered in the schools this year. Parents will receive permission slips from their child’s school in the coming weeks.

Tuesday, Nov. 27

10:30 a.m.: A Senior Olympic badminton club will be held at the Baldwin County Recreation Department gym. 

11 a.m. to 1 p.m.: Cafe Central is open every Tuesday at Freedom Church in Milledgeville. A free meal will be served to everyone who comes. For information on volunteering, call (478) 453-4400.

12:45 p.m.: The Milledgeville Kiwanis Club meets at the Milledgeville Country Club. Visitors are welcome to the program and to lunch with a club sponsor. 

1 p.m.: The Eatonton Duplicate Bridge Club, an official member of the American Contract Bridge League, meets at the Eatonton Performing Arts Center on Madison Avenue in Eatonton. Come with a partner or e-mail Pat Turney at turney@plantationcable.net for a possible partner match.

3:30 to 6:30 p.m.: Digital Bridges Open Computer Clinic is open in the Knight Community Innovation Center, 127 W. Hancock St. Work station availability is limited. The clinic is designed to teach basic skills to adult beginning computer users. Participants may come with specific questions or for general knowledge. For more information, call (478) 387-0254 or e-mail colin@thedigitalbridges.org to reserve your slot or to volunteer.

4 p.m.: N.A.M.I. (National Alliance on Mental Illness) Oconee, a support group for consumers, family, and friends of individuals with a severe mental illness/brain disorder, meets in the Christian Education Building of Covenant Presbyterian Church at 440 N. Columbia St. (478) 452-8600.

6 p.m.: A county-wide Title I Parent Workshop on Internet Safety and Bullying will be held in the Board Room at the Board of Education office.

6:30 p.m.: Milledgeville City Council meets at City Hall.

7 p.m.: The Sweet Georgia Sound Sweet Adeline Chorus meets at Vineville Christian Towers to practice, socialize and sing. It is for women only. (478) 932-5387.
