MILLEDGEVILLE — Baldwin County Schools will hold kindergarten registration for children 5 years old on or before Sept. 1, 2013. Registration will be held weekdays March 18-29 from 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Birth certificate, proof of residence, current immunization form, eye, ear and dental forms and a social security card are required. For school zone questions call (478) 457-2405.

Beginning in April and May IMPACT pre-service training classes to become a foster or adoptive parent will take place. They will be held in Gray and are free. For more information call 1 (877) 210-5437 or (478) 445-7020.



Wednesday, March 20

7:30 a.m.: Lake Oconee Promise Keepers meets at The River of Life center on Scott Road. Jack Minchey (706) 473-0431.

10 a.m.: The American Legion “Davis Watson” Post 237, Hardwick, meets in the Birdsong Recreation Building at the Georgia War Veterans Home, 2249 Vinson Hwy. S.E. All Legion members are urged to attend. For more information call John W. Griffin, Sixth District Commander at (478) 453-0295.

10:30 a.m. to noon: Free computer classes for seniors will be held at the Senior Citizens Center in Baldwin County.

10:30 a.m.: VIP, a support group for visually impaired persons, meets at the First Presbyterian Church, 210 S. Wayne St. (478) 452-1444.

Noon: Milledgeville Exchange Club meets at the Milledgeville Country Club.

1 p.m.: Falun Gong exercise class will be held at Central City Park (formerly Bonner Park) free of charge. Cultivate mind and body with 5 sets of easy-to-learn exercises good for all ages and all physical conditions. For more information, call (478) 453-4241.

1 to 3 p.m.: Digital Bridges Open Computer Clinic is open in the Knight Community Innovation Center, 127 W. Hancock St. Work station availability is limited. The clinic is designed to teach basic skills to adult beginning computer users. Participants may come with specific questions or for general knowledge. For more information, call (478) 387-0254 or e-mail colin@thedigitalbridges.org to reserve your slot or to volunteer.

3 to 5 p.m.: Mary Vinson Memorial Library, 151 S. Jefferson St., will host a We Read Program. Children may read with a designated reader and choose a special prize. For more information contact Youth Services at (478) 452-0677 ext. 129.

3:30 to 5 p.m.: Mary Vinson Memorial Library, 151 S. Jefferson St., will host Teen Club (middle and high school students). Crafts, snacks and afterschool activities galore. For more information contact Dabney Kinser at (478) 452-0677 ext. 127.

5 p.m.: The Central State Hospital Local Redevelopment Authority meets in City Council Chambers at City Hall.

6 p.m.: The Oconee Regional Medical Center/Oconee Regional Health Systems, Inc. Board meets in the Administrative Suite Board Room.
