MILLEDGEVILLE — Baldwin County Schools will hold kindergarten registration for children 5 years old on or before Sept. 1, 2013. Registration will be held weekdays March 18-29 from 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Birth certificate, proof of residence, current immunization form, eye, ear and dental forms and a social security card are required. Mark the Magic Man will host a benefit performance at 7 p.m. Saturday, March 16 at the Baldwin Fine Arts Center. Proceeds from the performance will go to the Baldwin GIVES program. Tickets are $10 for adults and $5 for children 12 and under. VIP seating, which includes reserved seats on the first three rows and a backstage pass to meet and greet the cast, are $25. Tickets are available at Elite School of Gymnastics on Log Cabin Road, from any Baldwin GIVES volunteer, The College and Career Center at Baldwin High School, or Z-97. Ocmulgee Court Appointed Special Advocates is looking for volunteers for its next training session. CASA is a non-profit organization that works with abused and neglected children that have found themselves involved in the court system through no fault of their own. These children need a voice in court and that is the role of CASA to see that these children have an opportunity to have their voices heard and to received services needed. Interested volunteers should contact the CASA office at (478) 452-9170 or visit their website at www.ocmulgeecasa.org.

Beginning in April and May IMPACT pre-service training classes to become a foster or adoptive parent will take place. They will be held in Gray and are free. For more information call 1 (877) 210-5437 or (478) 445-7020.



Saturday, March 16

8 a.m.: Yoga at the Greenway has moved indoors to Blackbird Coffee. Bring a yoga mat and/or towel. All ages welcome. $3/1 hour session.

9 a.m.: Plantation Quilters meet at the visitor center at Jarrell Plantation near Juliette. Dues are $10 a year. Bretta Perkins (478) 986-5172.

9 a.m. to noon: The Greenway Farmers Market is held at the Oconee River Greenway featuring sustainably-grown food, produce and baked goods.



Sunday, March 17

5 p.m.: The Oconee Regional Symphony Orchestra performs “An Evening of Classics” at Russell Auditorium. The concert is free, though donations are accepted. For more information, visit the ORSO Facebook page or www.oconeregionalsymphonyorchestra.org.

6:30 p.m.: American Legion Auxiliary Post 523 meets at 430 N. Martin Luther King Jr. Drive. All members are urged to attend.



Monday, March 18

7:30 a.m.: Lake Oconee Promise Keepers meets at The River of Life center on Scott Road. Jack Minchey (706) 473-0431.

Noon to 4 p.m.: Harriet's Closet, a free supply closet to help fill the needs of cancer patients, is open. The nonprofit organization dedicated to helping cancer patients in Central Georgia has relocated next door to Georgia Cancer Specialists building at Oconee Regional Medical Center. Noon: Milledgeville Exchange Club meets at the Milledgeville Country Club

5 p.m.: The Sinclair Water Authority meets at 126 Cay Drive, Milledgeville.

5 to 7 p.m.: Mary Vinson Memorial Library and Digital Bridges host a Computer Clinic at the Library, 151 S. Jefferson St. The clinic is designed to teach basic skills to adult beginning computer users. Participants may come with specific questions or for general knowledge. 6 p.m.: Mary Vinson Memorial Library, 151 S. Jefferson St., will host Yoga at the Library (for adults). Certified yoga instructor Xan Nichols will lead a free beginners yoga and meditation class in the Local History Room. Donations are accepted. 6:30 p.m.: The American Legion Auxiliary Unit 523 meets at the American Legion Post 523 on Martin Luther King Drive.

7 p.m.: BINGO is held at the American Legion on Log Cabin Road. No one under the age of 18 is permitted. Refreshments are sold by the Ladies Auxiliary. (478) 452-8538.

7:30 p.m.: The Oconee River Buskers Square Dance Club meets at the Walter B. Williams Recreation Center.
