MILLEDGEVILLE — The Lake Country Beekeepers Association will conduct a Beekeeping Short Course on Saturday, March 9 from 8 a.m. until 4 p.m. in Sparta at Elm Street Gardens. The pre-registration fee is $40 or $45 on the day of the program. There is a $10 fee for each additional family member and children under 18 with an adult are free. Registration includes a “First Lessons in Beekeeping” book by Dr. Keith Delaplane, handouts, one-year family membership in the association, refreshments and lunch. Preregistration is encouraged. Ocmulgee Court Appointed Special Advocates is looking for volunteers for its next training session. CASA is a non-profit organization that works with abused and neglected children that have found themselves involved in the court system through no fault of their own. These children need a voice in court and that is the role of CASA to see that these children have an opportunity to have their voices heard and to received services needed. Interested volunteers should contact the CASA office at (478) 452-9170 or visit their website at www.ocmulgeecasa.org.

Beginning in April and May IMPACT pre-service training classes to become a foster or adoptive parent will take place. They will be held in Gray and are free. For more information call 1 (877) 210-5437 or (478) 445-7020.



Friday, March 8

7:30 a.m.: The Oconee Regional Medical Center Inc. and The Oconee Regional Healthy Systems Inc. boards of directors hold their Ventures Board Meeting in the Administrative Suite Board Room.

10 a.m. to noon: Digital Bridges Open Computer Clinic is open in the Knight Community Innovation Center, 127 W. Hancock St. Work station availability is limited. The clinic is designed to teach basic skills to adult beginning computer users.
