Friday, Dec. 11

6 to 8 p.m.: Candlelight tours will be held at Lockerly Arboretum in Lockerly Hall featuring the Hall decorated with natural materials, tours led by docents in period dress, Santa Claus and his toy workshop and holiday music featuring local artists. Open to the community. Suggested donation of $5 per person. For more information, call (478) 452-2112.

7:30 p.m.: The Georgia College & State University Max Noah Singers present “An American Christmas” at The Plaza Arts Center, 305 N. Madison Ave. in Eatonton, featuring Christmas carols, original compositions, and spirituals ending with the traditional finales of Adoramus Te and Silent Night where alumni are invited to join. Admission is free. Donations are requested to offset the Max Noah Singers 2009 Tour expenses.



Saturday, Dec. 12

8 a.m.: The 100 Black Men of Milledgeville and Baldwin County meet at the Allen’s Market building on Wayne Street.

9 a.m. to 2 p.m.: The Oconee Regional Chapter of Project Linus meets in the Education Center of Park Tower at Oconee Regional Medical Center. The Chapter is open to anyone who wants to provide needy children with a comforting blanket. Attendees should bring their lunch.

10 a.m.: The Milledgeville Amateur Radio testing team conducts licensing tests for all three license levels at the Mary Vinson Library. Walk-ins are welcome. (478) 452-6394

6 to 8 p.m.: An Antebellum Christmas at the Old Governor’s Mansion is illuminated with a magical candlelight tour. Tickets are $10 per person and $7 for seniors. For more information, call (478) 445-4545.



Monday, Dec. 14

11:30 a.m.: The Middle Georgia Chapter 1051, National Association of Regular and Retired Federal Employees, meets at Golden Corral.

Noon: Fifties Plus meets at the Milledgeville FUMC on Log Cabin Road and is open to everyone. For more information on meetings and lunch, call the church office at (478) 452-4597.

Noon to 4 p.m.: Harriet’s Closet, a free supply closet to help fill the needs of cancer patients, is open. The non-profit organization dedicated to helping cancer patients in Central Georgia has relocated next door to Georgia Cancer Specialists building at Oconee Regional Medical Center.

4 p.m.: The Baldwin County Board of Registrars holds its monthly meeting in Room 214 of the Baldwin County Courthouse.

7 p.m.: BINGO is held at the American Legion on Log Cabin Road. No one under the age of 18 is permitted. Refreshments are sold by the Ladies Auxiliary. (478) 452-8538

7:30 p.m.: Milledgeville Jaycees meet at Walter B. Williams Jr. Park.

7:30 p.m.: The Oconee River Buskers Square Dance Club meets at the Walter B. Williams Recreation Center. Round dancing begins at 6:30 p.m.



Tuesday, Dec. 15

10:30 a.m.: A Senior Olympic badminton club will be held at the Baldwin County Recreation Department gym. For more information, contact David Carver at (478) 456-2735.

Noon: The Grumman Retiree Club Peach Pit Chapter meets at Golden Corral.

12:45 p.m.: The Milledgeville Kiwanis Club meets at the Milledgeville Country Club. Visitors are welcome to the program and to lunch with a club sponsor.

1 p.m.: The Eatonton Duplicate Bridge Club, an official member of the American Contract Bridge League, meets at the Eatonton Performing Arts Center on Madison Avenue in Eatonton. Come with a partner or e-mail Pat Turney at turney@plantationcable.net for a possible partner match.
