Monday, Nov. 30
Noon to 4 p.m.: Harriet’s Closet, a free supply closet to help fill the needs of cancer patients, is open in Room 413 of Oconee Regional Medical Center. A free Mary Kay consultation is available for cancer patients during Closet hours by appointment only. Carol Griffin (478) 453-0295.
6 p.m.: “The Mourning After” a bereavement group sponsored by Hospice Care Options and the GCSU Psychology Department is held in room 1-15 in the GCSU Arts and Sciences Building. The event is free and open to the public. (478) 453-8572
6 p.m.: GCSU’s Music Therapy Department holds a community drumming circle led by Music Therapy majors. The event will be held in Room 116 of the Health Sciences Building. For more information, contact Sarah Vick at (404) 660-0884.

7:30 p.m.: The Oconee River Buskers Square Dance Club meets at the Walter B. Williams Recreation Center. Round dancing begins at 6:30 p.m.
Tuesday, Dec. 1
1:30 p.m.: Central State Hospital presents The Magic of Christmas in the CSH Auditorium. The show will take audience members on a journey to Toy Land, the ocean, to see the Nutcracker Ballet, an old fashioned Christmas with saxophones and carolers and even a journey to China. We will visit the North Pole and pay tribute to our men and women of the armed services. Admission is free and the event is open to the community.
4:30 p.m.: The Blandy Hills Elementary School Council & PTSO Officers meet in the media center. Blandy Hills Elementary stakeholders are welcome to attend.
6:30 p.m.: American Legion Auxiliary Post 523 meets at 430 N. Martin Luther King Jr. Drive. All members are urged to attend.

7 a.m.: The Old Capital Kiwanis Club meets in Room 2-52 of Herty Hall on the GCSU campus.
Noon: The Rotary meets at the Country Club.
Noon: The Eatonton Kiwanis Club meets at Central Georgia Tech on the James Marshall bypass.
1 p.m.: The Eatonton Duplicate Bridge Club, an official member of the American Contract Bridge League, meets at the Eatonton Performing Arts Center at Madison Avenue in Eatonton. Come with a partner or e-mail Pat Turney at turney@plantationcable.net for a possible partner match.

5:30 p.m.: The Bicycling Club of Milledgeville meets at Bartram Forest on Carl Vinson Road for its weekly mountain bike ride for all levels. Ride at your own pace.
4:30 p.m.: The Baldwin County Chapter of the Fort Valley State Alumni Association meets at the public service building at the Milledgeville Police Department.
5 to 7:30 p.m.: The Brown-Stetson-Sanford House is turned into a living history lesson on Victorian customs as it is transformed into a Children’s Victorian Christmas. Enjoy wine and cheese preview party and silent auction to raise money for the BSS House. Historical Christmas decorations, display of children’s pop-up books, silhouette artist, magician, storyteller of Christmas customs, exhibit of historical Santa costumes, gingerbread house contest, refreshments featuring 19th century recipes, and a gift shop. 5:30 p.m.: The annual Hanging of the Greens festivities will be held on GCSU’s front campus. A time-honored tradition, faculty, staff, students and community members are invited to help decorate the historic buildings and grounds by stringing lights and hanging greenery from railings and balconies. Orchestrated by committee, students are heavily involved in the planning of the event. Holiday music, warm cider and plenty of holiday cheer greet all those who participate and those who observe the event. The community is invited to attend.
5:30 p.m.: The Baldwin Christian Learning Center holds a meeting at Westview Baptist Church, 273 Hwy. 49 W. Two courses will be offered beginning in January from 3:45 to 5:15 p.m. Monday through Friday involving conflict resolution and communication skills. All parents or guardians of students in 9th through 12th grades are encouraged to attend.
7 p.m.: The Milledgeville Lions Club meets at the Golden Corral on North Columbia Street.
7:30 p.m.: Bingo is held at the American Legion Post 523 on Martin Luther King Jr. Drive. Refreshments will be sold. (478) 452-1611
7:30 p.m.: GCSU Music Department holds its annual holiday concert in Russell Auditorium on the GCSU campus. Featuring a myriad of holiday tunes to keep your toes tapping and your heart full, this fundraiser concert features the GCSU Music Department choral and instrumental ensembles. Tickets are $10 each and can be purchased at www.gcsutickets.com or by phone with credit card. There will be no discounted tickets.
