Saturday, Nov. 14
8 a.m.: The 100 Black Men of Milledgeville and Baldwin County meet at the Allen’s Market building on Wayne Street.
9 a.m. to 2 p.m.: The Oconee Regional Chapter of Project Linus meets in the Education Center of Park Tower at Oconee Regional Medical Center. The Chapter is open to anyone who wants to provide needy children with a comforting blanket. Attendees should bring their lunch.
10 a.m.: The Milledgeville Amateur Radio testing team conducts licensing tests for all three license levels at the Mary Vinson Library. Walk-ins are welcome. (478) 452-6394
11 a.m. to noon: Milledgeville's Lockerly Arboretum presents a lecture titled Heirloom Bulbs for Southern Gardens. The Junior Gardener's program for children aged 9-12 will also be offered at that time, and the arboretum will be holding a special fall plant sale event throughout the day. 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.: A barbecue fundraiser will be held at St. Stephen’s Episcopal Church, 220 S. Wayne St. Tickets are $6 each and available in advance by calling (478) 454-8654. A limited number of plates will be sold on-site.
1 to 4 p.m.: The Oconee Valley Iris Club holds its annual Fall Iris show at the Milledgeville Mall. The theme of the show is “The Miracle of Fall”. Awards will be given in Horticultural and Artistic categories for both adults and youth. There will also be a special “People’s Choice Award” given to one artistic arrangement voted best by the public. Entries will be accepted at the center front door of the Milledgeville Mall from 9 to 10:45 a.m. and judging will begin at 11 a.m. The show is free and open to the public.

6:30 p.m.: American Legion Auxiliary Post 523 meets at 430 N. Martin Luther King Jr. Drive. All members are urged to attend.

9 a.m. to 4 p.m.: Allied Arts will be accepting entries for the third annual Big Click Photography Contest and Exhibition at the Marlor Arts Center, 201 N. Wayne St. The exhibition is open to adult photographers in Central Georgia who may enter a maximum of two photographs each. All photographs entered will be exhibited and cash awards will be given to the First, Second, and Third Place entries. Noon: Milledgeville Exchange Club meets at the Milledgeville Country Club
Noon to 4 p.m.: Harriet’s Closet, a free supply closet to help fill the needs of cancer patients, is open. The non-profit organization dedicated to helping cancer patients in Central Georgia has relocated next door to Georgia Cancer Specialists building at Oconee Regional Medical Center.
2 p.m.: The American Legion Post 237, Hardwick (Davis-Watson Chapter) meets in the Birdsong Recreation Building at the Georgia War Veterans Home, 2249 Vinson Hwy. S.E. All Legion members are urged to attend. For more information, call (912) 506-5664.
5 p.m.: The Sinclair Water Authority holds a public hearing at Sinclair Water Authority, 126 Cay Drive.
