Wednesday, Nov. 11

The Newcomers Club of Milledgeville will meet for an ornament exchange. The meeting will not be held at the Hardwick United Methodist Church. For more information about Newcomers and the location and time of the ornament exchange, contact Carolyn Olivent (478) 968-7049.

7:30 a.m.: Lake Oconee Promise Keepers meets at The River of Life center on Scott Road. Jack Minchey (706) 473-0431.

10 a.m.: The Newcomers Club of Milledgeville meets at the Hardwick United Methodist Church, 195 SE Hardwick St.

10:30 a.m. to noon: Free computer classes for seniors will be held at the Senior Citizens Center in Baldwin County.

11 a.m.: A Veteran’s Day celebration will be held at the Georgia War Veterans Home. Georgia Military College cadets, members of the Junior ROTC groups and many others will participate. Brigadier General Maria L. Britt, Commanding General, Georgia Army National Guard, NAS-Marietta, will be the key-note speaker.

Noon: Milledgeville Exchange Club meets at the Milledgeville Country Club.

6 p.m.: Goldwing Road Riders Association Georgia Chapter 1 meets at the Golden Corral on North Columbia Street. Dinner is followed by the meeting at 7 p.m. All bikers and biker enthusiasts may attend.



Thursday, Nov. 12

7 a.m.: The Old Capital Kiwanis Club meets in Room 2-52 of Herty Hall on the GCSU campus.

11:30 a.m.: The Baldwin Chapter AARP No. 5387 meets at Crockett’s Cafeteria for lunch and the meeting will begin at noon. Please bring items for the food pantry.

Noon: The Rotary meets at the Country Club.

Noon: The Eatonton Kiwanis Club meets at Central Georgia Tech on the James Marshall bypass.

1 p.m.: The Eatonton Duplicate Bridge Club, an official member of the American Contract Bridge League, meets at the Eatonton Performing Arts Center at Madison Avenue in Eatonton. Come with a partner or e-mail Pat Turney at turney@plantationcable.net for a possible partner match.

5:30 p.m.: The Bicycling Club of Milledgeville meets at Bartram Forest on Carl Vinson Road for its weekly mountain bike ride for all levels. Ride at your own pace.

5:30 p.m.: The Lake Oconee Area Chapter of the Georgia State Retirees Association (GSRA) hosts an information meeting for state retirees and area legislators at the Family Life Center of the Greensboro First United Methodist Church. Refreshments will be served at 5:30 p.m. followed by the meeting at 6 p.m. Guest speaker will be Mr. Bill Tomlinson, State Vice President of GSRA and GSRA's Legislative Liaison. All state retirees, their spouses, and those planning retirement having concerns about the underfunding of their retirement benefit fund are encouraged to attend this important meeting. 11 a.m.: Baldwin County Board of Commissioners holds a health, environment, recreation and conservation committee meeting in Suite 319 of the Baldwin County Courthouse.

7 p.m.: A Noteworthy Review: An evening of music from Bach to Broadway will be presented by Creative Expressions in the Arts and Sciences Auditorium on the GCSU campus. Performers with disAbilities and those without present an evening of musical selections from works throughout history. Join us as the Harmonettes Handbell Choir, Music in Motion Sign Language Group, Good Vibrations Drumming Ensemble, Circular Motion Dancers and the Harmonettes Vocal Choir take us on a journey through different musical times and musical styles. This event is free and open to the public. Donations towards the program are welcome.
