The Exchange Club of Milledgeville is making preparations for this year’s Christmas Parade which will begin at 3 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 5 in downtown Milledgeville. Applications are available by calling Roc Patel at (478) 452-2335, or by contacting any Exchange Club member.
Saturday, Nov. 7
9 a.m. to 5 p.m.: A Community Fun Day, sponsored by JHJ Ministries, Inc., will be held at Louis Huley Park off MLK Drive. A jump house, face painting, table games, Gospel groups and soloists, a Gospel Idol contest, hula hoops, checkers, Stepping for Jesus, egg race and a basketball exhibition will be held throughout the day. Prizes will be awarded. All ages are welcome and the event is free and open to the community. Bring your own lawn chair.
9 a.m.: The Exchange Club of Wilkinson County holds a Turkey Shoot on the Gordon Highway next to Sappe’s Heating and Air. Chick-fil-A biscuits will be available from 9 to 10 a.m., hot boiled peanuts, coffee, hot chocolate and soft drinks will be available. Tickets for a new Browining Silver Hunter 20 ga. shotgun will be sold for the drawing on Nov. 12. Shotguns for the turkey shoot will be available or bring your own.
10 a.m. to 2 p.m.: Georgia College & State University hosts a Direct Marketing & Franchise Career Expo at the GCSU Macon Center, 433 Cherry St., in Macon.
6 to 9 p.m.: Andalusia holds a bluegrass concert featuring Redline Express. Admission is $5 per person. Hamburgers and hot-dogs will be available for purchase or bring a picnic dinner, beverages, chairs and blanket and a flashlight. Louis Kaduck offers a one-mile guided nature walk on Lower Tobler Creek Trial at 5 p.m. before the music begins.
7:30 p.m.: Georgia College Department of Music presents Disney Delights. Enter the magical kingdom where elephants fly, chimney sweeps dance and every wish comes true. The event will be held at First Presbyterian Church, 210 S. Wayne St. Admission is free, donations requested for MNS 2009 Tour. Sunday, Nov. 8
2 to 5 p.m.: A Sunday concert on Green Field in Hancock county will be held to benefit John Hancock Academy’s prom board. Old country, classic rock, Southern gospel, contemporary Christian featuring many local and regional artists. Tickets are $6 for adults and $2 for JHA students. Bring blanket and lawn chairs. No coolers, please. A concession stand will be available.
Monday, Nov. 9
Noon: Milledgeville First United Methodist Church “Fifty’s Plus” meets at FUMC on Log Cabin Road. The program will be honoring our veterans. Please call the church office at (478) 452-3955 for lunch reservations.
4 p.m.: The Baldwin County Board of Registrars meets in Hearing Room 104 of the Baldwin County Courthouse.
