MILLEDGEVILLE — Baldwin County Fire Rescue is selling tickets for barbecue chicken plates at $7 each. The money raised will help the department purchase equipment. Tickets can be purchased at the Headquarters station at 312 Allen Memorial Dr., in Milledgeville. The plates will be available for pick up on July 24 from noon to 3 p.m.



Tuesday, July 13 through Friday, July 16

6 p.m.: The Faith Hope and Love Cancer Support Group for Women meets at Sylvia’s Grille, 2600 N. Columbia St. in the Walmart Shopping Center. The meeting is open to cancer patients and survivors. Wednesday, July 14

7:30 a.m.: Lake Oconee Promise Keepers meets at The River of Life center on Scott Road. Jack Minchey (706) 473-0431.

8:20 a.m.: Central State Hospital will be holding a mock tornado drill.

10 a.m.: The Newcomers Club of Milledgeville meets at the Hardwick United Methodist Church, 195 SE Hardwick St.

10:30 a.m. to noon: Free computer classes for seniors will be held at the Senior Citizens Center in Baldwin County.

Noon: Milledgeville Exchange Club meets at the Milledgeville Country Club

11:30 a.m: The The Oconee Master Gardener Association will hold its monthly luncheon meeting at Sylvia's in the Walmart shopping center. The speaker will be Georgia Master Gardener David Barnes, who will present a slide program on the glorious bulb displays of Keukenhof Gardens, and of the royal Dutch family summer palace gardens at Paleis Het Loo, both near Amsterdam. 6 p.m.: Goldwing Road Riders Association Georgia Chapter 1 meets at the Golden Corral on North Columbia Street. Dinner is followed by the meeting at 7 p.m. All bikers and biker enthusiasts may attend.



Thursday, July 15

7 a.m.: The Old Capital Kiwanis Club meets in Room 2-52 of Herty Hall on the GCSU campus.

8:30 a.m.: The Milledgeville-Baldwin County Chamber of Commerce Full Board meets in the Chamber Boardroom at 130 S. Jefferson St.

10 a.m. to 2 p.m.: Harriet’s Closet, a free supply closet to help fill the needs of cancer patients, is open. The non-profit organization dedicated to helping cancer patients in Central Georgia has relocated next door to Georgia Cancer Specialists building at Oconee Regional Medical Center. (478) 451-3413.

Noon: The Eatonton Kiwanis Club meets at Central Georgia Tech on the James Marshall bypass.

Noon to 1 p.m.: Bank your Bucks: Cash is King. Join Digital Bridges for a Lunch & Learn presentation about how to make your money work harder for your business. SunTrust City President Ron Weigle will open the discussion with a presentation about managing cash flows, liquidity and speeding up receipts, and University of Georgia Small Business Development Center Business Consultant Lisa Perry will discuss the availability of and resources needed to acquire small business loans. This presentation will take place at the Knight Community Innovation Center, located at 127 W. Hancock St. in downtown Milledgeville.
