Friday, Aug. 28

9 a.m. to 5 p.m.: Alex’s Lemonade Stand fundraiser at Oconee Regional Medical Center. This is the second annual memorial stand in memory of Sara Willoughby, who died from liver cancer in 2002 and in honor of those fighting cancer.

1 p.m. to 5 p.m.: The Oconee Valley Iris Club will hold its annual Iris Plant Sale at the Milledgeville Mall. All plants will be $5 each.



Saturday, Aug. 29

10 a.m. to 2 p.m.: The Oconee Valley Iris Club will hold its annual Iris Plant Sale at the Milledgeville Mall. All plants will be $5 each.

10:30 a.m.: "Book Buffs" a book discussion group meets in Gray at Kema's Bookstore on the Atlanta Road. The club will discuss Sundays at Tiffany's by James Patterson and Gabrielle Charbonnet. For more information call Glenda Thompson at (478) 986-4498

7 p.m.: Christian recording artist Paul Saik will be at Milledgeville’s 1st United Methodist Church, 366 Log Cabin Road, for a free concert. Saik’s artistry shines through his voice delivery, piano arrangements and mastery of the pipe organ. His concerts are a unique journey through his life as he performs various styles of music from opera, Broadway, organ, piano and vocal solos.



Sunday, Aug. 30

Monday, Aug. 31

9 a.m. to 5 p.m.: Alex’s Lemonade Stand fundraiser at Oconee Regional Medical Center. This is the second annual memorial stand in memory of Sara Willoughby, who died from liver cancer in 2002 and in honor of those fighting cancer.

Noon to 4 p.m.: Harriet’s Closet, a free supply closet to help fill the needs of cancer patients, is open in Room 413 of Oconee Regional Medical Center. A free Mary Kay consultation is available for cancer patients during Closet hours by appointment only. Carol Griffin (478) 453-0295.

5 p.m.: Sinclair Water Authority Meeting will be held at 126 Cay Drive in Putnam County.

6 p.m.: “The Mourning After” a bereavement group sponsored by Hospice Care Options and the GCSU Psychology Department is held in room 1-15 in the GCSU Arts and Sciences Building. The event is free and open to the public. (478) 453-8572

7 p.m.: BINGO is held at the American Legion on Log Cabin Road. No one under the age of 18 is permitted. Refreshments are sold by the Ladies Auxiliary. (478) 452-8538

7:30 p.m.: The Oconee River Buskers Square Dance Club meets at the Walter B. Williams Recreation Center. Round dancing begins at 6:30 p.m.



Tuesday, Sept. 1

No regular meeting of the Baldwin County Board of Commissioners will be held due to the holiday schedule.

12:45 p.m.: The Milledgeville Kiwanis Club meets at the Milledgeville Country Club. Visitors are welcome to the program and to lunch with a club sponsor.
