MILLEDGEVILLE — Ocmulgee Court Appointed Special Advocates is looking for volunteers for its next training session. CASA is a non-profit organization that works with abused and neglected children that have found themselves involved in the court system through no fault of their own. These children need a voice in court and that is the role of CASA to see that these children have an opportunity to have their voices heard and to received services needed. Interested volunteers should contact the CASA office at (478) 452-9170 or visit their website at www.ocmulgeecasa.org.

The City of Milledgeville water department will be conducting maintenance on the 1 million gallon ground storage water tank located on Dunlap Road. The tank will be out of service beginning Jan. 29 and will remain out of service for approximately six weeks. This is part of the City's preventive maintenance program to ensure a high quality of drinking water for our customers. Customers in this area may experience low water pressure and/or discoloured water. If you experience this please contact the Water and Sewer office at (478) 414-4052.

Flu vaccines are now available at the Baldwin County Health Department. They will offer both the traditional flu shot and Flu Mist, which is a nasal spray. Vaccines will cost $25 but are available at no charge to those on Medicaid, Peachcare, Wellcare, Amerigroup, Medicare Part B, Blue Cross Blue Shield of Georgia or a State Benefit Plan through United Healthcare or Cigna.



Tuesday, Feb. 12

10:30 to 11 a.m.: Mary Vinson Memorial Library, 151 S. Jefferson St., will host a Toddler Time Program (ages: 18 months to 3 years).

10:30 a.m.: A Senior Olympic badminton club will be held at the Baldwin County Recreation Department gym.

11 a.m. to 1 p.m.: Cafe Central is open every Tuesday at Freedom Church in Milledgeville. A free meal will be served to everyone who comes. For information on volunteering, call (478) 453-4400.

12:45 p.m.: The Milledgeville Kiwanis Club meets at the Milledgeville Country Club. Visitors are welcome to the program and to lunch with a club sponsor.

1 p.m.: The Eatonton Duplicate Bridge Club, an official member of the American Contract Bridge League, meets at the Eatonton Performing Arts Center on Madison Avenue in Eatonton. Come with a partner or e-mail Pat Turney at turney@plantationcable.net for a possible partner match.

3 to 5 p.m.: Digital Bridges Open Computer Clinic is open in the Knight Community Innovation Center, 127 W. Hancock St. Work station availability is limited. The clinic is designed to teach basic skills to adult beginning computer users. Participants may come with specific questions or for general knowledge. 3:30 to 4 p.m.: Mary Vinson Memorial Library, 151 S. Jefferson St., will host a Story Time Program (ages three and up). For more information, contact Youth Services at (478) 452-0677 ext. 129.

5:30 p.m.: The Baldwin County Board of Education meets at the board administrative building, 110 N. ABC Drive.

6 p.m.: The Faith Hope and Love Cancer Support Group for Women meets at Golden Corral, 2600 N. Columbia St. in the Walmart Shopping Center. The meeting is open to cancer patients and survivors. 6:30 p.m.: Milledgeville City Council meets at City Hall.

7 p.m.: The Sweet Georgia Sound Sweet Adeline Chorus meets at Vineville Christian Towers to practice, socialize and sing. It is for women only. (478) 932-5387.
