MILLEDGEVILLE —  

Monday, Jan. 28

Noon to 4 p.m.: Harriet's Closet, a free supply closet to help fill the needs of cancer patients, is open. The nonprofit organization dedicated to helping cancer patients in Central Georgia has relocated next door to Georgia Cancer Specialists building at Oconee Regional Medical Center. For information or to volunteer, call (478) 457-2124.

1 to 3 p.m.: Mary Vinson Memorial Library and Digital Bridges host a Computer Clinic at the Library by appointment only. The clinic is designed to teach basic skills to adult beginning computer users. Participants may come with specific questions or for general knowledge. For more information, call (478) 387-0254 or e-mail colin@thedigitalbridges.org to reserve your slot or volunteer.

5:30 p.m.: Milledgeville-Baldwin County Development Authority meets in the Chamber of Commerce office.

6 p.m.: Survivors of Suicide meet at River Edge Behavioral Center on Blandy Road (just past Flooring America on the left). For more information call Leanne Branch (478) 451-2740.

7 p.m. to 9 p.m.: A community bike project will be held at the Milledgeville Fire Department on W. Thomas St. Bikes will be repaired by volunteers and given to those in greatest need in the community. The event is co-sponsored by Milledgeville Cares, Inc. and the Milledgeville Fire Department. Donations of all usable bikes and bike parts will be accepted at the station on Thomas Street any time. High school age and adult volunteers are needed to repair bikes. Adam Heagy of Oconee Outfitters will teach the class. Tools will be provided or available at cost for individual's kits (optional). The bike project will meet the fourth Monday of each month from 7 to 9 p.m. For more information, contact Louise Sallstrom at (478) 457-5311 or visit milledgevillecares@gmail.com.

7 p.m.: BINGO is held at the American Legion on Log Cabin Road. No one under the age of 18 is permitted. Refreshments are sold by the Ladies Auxiliary. (478) 452-8538.

7:30 p.m.: The Oconee River Buskers Square Dance Club meets at the Walter B. Williams Recreation Center. 

7:30 p.m.: Milledgeville Jaycees meet at Walter B. Williams Jr. Park.

6 p.m.: “The Mourning After” a bereavement group sponsored by Hospice Care Options and the GC Psychology Department is held in room 1-15 in the GC Arts and Sciences Building. The event is free and open to the public. (478) 453-8572.
