MILLEDGEVILLE — Flu vaccines are now available at the Baldwin County Health Department. They will offer both the traditional flu shot and Flu Mist, which is a nasal spray. Vaccines will cost $25 but are available at no charge to those on Medicaid, Peachcare, Wellcare, Amerigroup, Medicare Part B, Blue Cross Blue Shield of Georgia or a State Benefit Plan through United Healthcare or Cigna.

Baldwin County Environmental Office encourages everyone who used a live tree for the holidays to please recycle your tree when no longer in use. Beginning Dec. 26 trees free of lights and decorations may be dropped off at the GA DOT Maintenance facility, 161 Blandy Road.



Thursday, Dec. 27

10 a.m. to 2 p.m.: Harriet's Closet, a free supply closet to help fill the needs of cancer patients, is open. The nonprofit organization dedicated to helping cancer patients in Central Georgia has relocated next door to Georgia Cancer Specialists building at Oconee Regional Medical Center. 11 a.m.: There will be a ribbon cutting ceremony at 1300 Orchard Hill Road dedicating a monuments reflecting the current site was J.F. Boddie High School. All former classes of J.F. Boddie High School are welcome to attend, as is the community.

11:45 a.m.: The Civitan Club of Baldwin County meets 2nd and 4th Thursdays at the Golden Corral. Civitan's main thrust worldwide is helping the physically and/or mentally challenged. The clinic is designed to teach basic skills to adult beginning computer users. Participants may come with specific questions or for general knowledge.
