9:30 a.m.: The Oconee Community Service Board holds a called meeting. For more information, please call (478) 445-4817.



Saturday, May 30

11 a.m.: The Milledgeville Police Department will host registration for its summer MPD Junior Police Academy at the MPD substation at the Milledgeville Mall. A $50 registration fee is due upon registration. (478) 414-4041 or (478) 414-4000.



Monday, June 1

10 a.m.: Oconee Valley Family YMCA meets at People’s Bank at Harmony Road and Highway 44.

10:30 to 11 a.m.: A story time program will be held at the Mary Vinson Memorial Library, 151 S. Jefferson St. For more information, contact Anne Moore at (478) 452-0677 ext. 29.

Noon to 4 p.m.: Harriet’s Closet, a free supply closet to help fill the needs of cancer patients, is open. The non-profit organization dedicated to helping cancer patients in Central Georgia has relocated next door to Georgia Cancer Specialists building at Oconee Regional Medical Center.

3 p.m.: “The Mourning After” a bereavement group sponsored by Hospice Care Options is held at the First Baptist Church on South Liberty Street in Milledgeville. The event is free and open to the public. (478) 453-8572

6 p.m.: The Mohawk Faith-Based Committee will meet in Mohawk Conference Room on Roberson Mill Road.

7 p.m.: BINGO is held at the American Legion on Log Cabin Road. No one under the age of 18 is permitted. Refreshments are sold by the Ladies Auxiliary. (478) 452-8538

7:30 p.m.: The Oconee River Buskers Square Dance Club meets at the Walter B. Williams Recreation Center. Round dancing begins at 6:30 p.m.

7:30 p.m.: The Baldwin County chapter of the Southern Christian Leadership Conference meets at American Legion Post 523.
