MILLEDGEVILLE — Friday, Oct. 19

GMC will host its Alumni Weekend at the Milledgeville campus. Some of the weekend’s events include a golf tournament; a dance with entertainment by “The Grapevine;” the presentation of the 2012 Alumni Awards during the Alumni Parade featuring the 134th Corps of Cadets with guest speaker Dr. George Coletti; a groundbreaking ceremony for GMC’s new Health and Wellness Center; a concert featuring Mac Frampton and his band performing “Yesterday Once More;” and several opportunities for tours of GMC’s campus. 10 a.m. to noon: Digital Bridges Open Computer Clinic is open in the Knight Community Innovation Center, 127 W. Hancock St. Work station availability is limited. The clinic is designed to teach basic skills to adult beginning computer users. Participants may come with specific questions or for general knowledge. For more information, call (478) 387-0254 or e-mail colin@thedigitalbridges.org to reserve your slot or to volunteer.

11 a.m.: Learning In Retirement will have a Board Meeting at the Milledgeville Country Club.

Noon to 5 p.m.: Middle Georgia Art Association, MGAA Gallery, 2330 Ingelside Ave., will open the judged exhibit “Harvest Time.” The gallery will run through Nov. 9. For more information, call (478) 744-9557 or e-mail middlegeorgiaart@bellsouth.net.

12:30 p.m.: Learning In Retirement will host a Lunch & Learn at Milledgeville Country Club. Poet Laureate of Georgia, Judson Mitcham, will be the featured speaker and the public is invited to attend. Tickets are $15 and must be purchased by Friday, Oct. 12. Checks should be made out to LIR-GC&SU. Tickets can be purchased at the Milledgeville Country Club or by mailing your check to Anne Collier, 169 Lakeshore Circle, NE, Milledgeville, GA 31061.

6 p.m.: BCREA members are invited to meet at Golden Corral for a Dutch treat dinner followed by attendance to the Baldwin High School football game at 7:30. For further information call Kathy Hawkins (478) 452-3165 or Gloria Reaves (478) 234-0138.

A golf tournament for the Georgia Cancer Support charity will take place at the Milledgeville Country Club. There will be 25 teams of four players each. Anyone has the opportunity to purchase any of the 18 holes for $100 or sponsor a team for $450. Vendors are also able to donate $100 to set up a booth at the event to sell their merchandise. Patrons can enjoy dinner after a $30 donation.



Sunday, Oct. 21

3 p.m.: Yung Mieo and his production crew will visit The Fun Factory! Yung Mieo is a rising music artist from Atlanta. More information about the event will be posted to the Georgia Fun Factory Facebook page.

6:30 p.m.: American Legion Auxiliary Post 523 meets at 430 N. Martin Luther King Jr. Drive. All members are urged to attend.
