The sixth annual Georgia College Global Symposium Literacy, Learning and Leading: Education for a 21st Century World runs Feb. 4 to 6. Ocmulgee Court Appointed Special Advocates is looking for volunteers for its next training session. CASA is a non-profit organization that works with abused and neglected children that have found themselves involved in the court system through no fault of their own. These children need a voice in court and that is the role of CASA to see that these children have an opportunity to have their voices heard and to received services needed. The City of Milledgeville water department will be conducting maintenance on the 1 million gallon ground storage water tank located on Dunlap Road. The tank will be out of service beginning Jan. 29 and will remain out of service for approximately six weeks. This is part of the City's preventive maintenance program to ensure a high quality of drinking water for our customers. Flu vaccines are now available at the Baldwin County Health Department. They will offer both the traditional flu shot and Flu Mist, which is a nasal spray. Vaccines will cost $25 but are available at no charge to those on Medicaid, Peachcare, Wellcare, Amerigroup, Medicare Part B, Blue Cross Blue Shield of Georgia or a State Benefit Plan through United Healthcare or Cigna.

7 a.m. to 10 p.m.: IHOP, 2598 N. Columbia Street, will be offering a free short stack of buttermilk pancakes. In return, diners will be asked to leave a voluntary donation to support the Children's Miracle Network Hospitals programs at Children's Hospital at the Medical Center of Central Georgia.
