Tuesday, Jan. 26

9 to 11 a.m.: MOPS (Mothers of Preschoolers) meet at Northridge Christian Church MOPS, 321 Log Cabin Road. 10:30 a.m.: A Senior Olympic badminton club will be held at the Baldwin County Recreation Department gym. For more information, contact David Carver at (478) 456-2735.

12:45 p.m.: The Milledgeville Kiwanis Club meets at the Milledgeville Country Club. Visitors are welcome to the program and to lunch with a club sponsor.

1 p.m.: The Eatonton Duplicate Bridge Club, an official member of the American Contract Bridge League, meets at the Eatonton Performing Arts Center on Madison Avenue in Eatonton. Come with a partner or e-mail Pat Turney at turney@plantationcable.net for a possible partner match.

4 p.m.: N.A.M.I. (National Alliance on Mental Illness) Oconee, a support group for consumers, family, and friends of individuals with a severe mental illness/brain disorder, meets in the Christian Education Building of Covenant Presbyterian Church at 440 N. Columbia St. (478) 452-8600.

4:30 p.m.: The Blandy Hills Elementary School Council & PTSO Officers will meet at Blandy Hills. Blandy Hills Elementary stakeholders are welcome to attend.

6 p.m.: The Bicycling Club of Milledgeville meets in the parking lot behind Oconee Outfitters for its weekly road ride. Beginner pace for first hour, moderate pace later.

7 p.m.: The Sweet Georgia Sound Sweet Adeline Chorus meets at Vineville Christian Towers to practice, socialize and sing. It is for women only. (478) 932-5387

7:30 p.m.: Milledgeville City Council meets at City Hall.

Wednesday, Jan. 27

7:30 a.m.: Lake Oconee Promise Keepers meets at The River of Life center on Scott Road. Jack Minchey (706) 473-0431.

10:30 a.m. to noon: Free computer classes for seniors will be held at the Senior Citizens Center in Baldwin County.

4 to 8 p.m.: Georgia Masons from Benevolent Lodge No. 3 of Milledgeville sponsors a free Georgia Child Identification Program (GA CHIP) at the Milledgeville First United Methodist Church on Log Cabin Road. The event is free and open to the community. Parents or guardians will receive a packet that includes fingerprints, data sheet, recorded interview, still photos and dental imprints all of which are compatible with the amber alert system. 6 p.m.: The Bicycling Club of Milledgeville & Baldwin County meets in the basement of Blackbird Coffee on Hancock Street. Join cyclists of all types, ages and levels of ability to discuss plans for upcoming rides. Visit http://mvillebikes.com

6 p.m.: The Putnam County School System, in conjunction with the Madison Museum of Art and the Plaza Arts Center, is featuring a student sponsored art exhibit on the life and times of American Urban Realist Alexander Kruse (1888-1972) at the Eatonton Plaza Arts Center and will run until Thursday, Feb. 11. Thursday, Jan. 28

All Department of Driver Services customer service centers and administrative offices throughout the state will be closed due to mandatory furlough days. Customers that many transactions including initiating a change of address or replacing a lost license can be done online at www.dds.ga.gov.

7 a.m.: The Old Capital Kiwanis Club meets in Room 2-52 of Herty Hall on the GCSU campus.

11 a.m. to 2 p.m.: Oconee Regional Healthcare Foundation, in partnership with Pig in a Pit Bar-B-Que, will hold a BBQ Plate Fundraiser to benefit the Dr. Samuel Goodrich Medical Professional Scholarship Fund. Tickets are $8 and include your choice of pork or chicken, two sides and bread. Plates can be picked up at the Cobb Tower entrance (old main entrance) of Oconee Regional Medical Center. Tickets are available at the Pink Bow Gift Shop at Oconee Regional Medical Center, located in the lobby of the Park Tower entrance. 6 p.m.: Campus Club Milledgeville, a youth arts and enrichment program, will host a public forum to discuss its program. The forum will be held January 28, 2010 at the Kilpatrick Auditorium on the GCSU campus starting at 6 p.m. This forum is open to the public. (478) 387-0200

6:30 p.m.: The Old Capitol Optimist Club meets at the Golden Corral Restaurant on North Columbia Street. Interested citizens are welcome.

7:30 p.m.: Bingo is held at the American Legion Post 523 on Martin Luther King Jr. Drive. Refreshments will be sold. (478) 452-1611
