MILLEDGEVILLE — The following is information compiled from public records taken from reports of the Milledgeville Police Department and the Baldwin County Sheriff’s Office. It is our policy to not disclose the names of victims. These reports do not reflect guilt or innocence. An “arrest” does not always indicate incarceration. The charges filed are noted in the narrative.



Baldwin County Sheriff’s Office

DUI

A man was arrested for driving under the influence after an officer arrived at the scene of an accident on Jule Ingram Road Dec. 2. The officer noticed a strong odor of an alcoholic beverage coming from the man. When questioned, he began punching the window of his vehicle.

Theft by Taking

A man reported that someone had taken a Schwinn Mountain Bike from his West Franklin Street residence Nov. 26.

Burglary

A man at a Meriwether Point Road reported witnessing a break-in at his neighbor's home sometime between 3 and 5 p.m. Nov. 29. He stated he occasionally checks on his neighbor's residence and noticed the front door was ajar and some damage to the door knob and dead bolt. No items were reported missing.



Milledgeville Police Department

Theft by Receiving Stolen Property

A sales associate at a South Wayne Street pawn shop reported that she had received a stolen laptop from a man around 10:10 a.m. Nov. 16.

Theft by Taking

A woman reported that someone took antique statues and glassware sometime between Nov. 14 and Nov. 16 from the porch of her Ernest Byner Street home.

Criminal Damage to Property

A man reported that someone stripped the copper wiring from a rental home he owns on Old Monticello Road sometime between Nov. 11 and Nov. 15.
