MILLEDGEVILLE — The following is information compiled from public records taken from reports of the Milledgeville Police Department and the Baldwin County Sheriff’s Office. It is our policy to not disclose the names of victims. These reports do not reflect guilt or innocence. An “arrest” does not always indicate incarceration. The charges filed are noted in the narrative.

 

Baldwin County Sheriff's Office

Burglary


A man reported June 22 that he was sitting in the den of his home, located in the 100 block of Highview Road, watching TV with two children and heard the back door open. His oldest daughter went and looked and said the door was opened. The man said he exited the house to see who was on his back porch and he didn't find anyone, but then as he came back around the house, he saw a young black male walking up his driveway toward the road.  

Theft by Taking

A man reported June 23 that he is in the process of moving from Selma Drive to another residence on Allen Memorial Drive and he last saw his vehicle at the home on Selma Drive the previous date. The man said when he returned to the

residence the next day, the vehicle was missing. The vehicle was described as a four-door green 1995 Hyundai Accent, with white stripes on both sides of the vehicle, a cracked windshield and a “Jesus saves” tag on the front. There were no suspects in the theft of the vehicle and a BOLO was issued.

Burglary

A deputy was dispatched to the 300 block of Bland Street June 21 and a woman reported that she returned to her residence to find that it had been burglarized. The deputy observed a broken back window and a china cabinet that had been knocked over and there were several dishes in the cabinet that had been broken. The woman said that the offender took two laptop computers and Nintendo Wii gaming system.

Criminal trespass

A deputy was at the Oconee Regional Medical Center June 25 and met with a woman who stated that her vehicle was parked in the rear parking lot of Club Fahrenheit and when she exited the club, she observed several suspects standing around her vehicle. The woman said she left the club and headed to the hospital, and upon her arrival at the hospital, she noticed that the front windshield of her car was cracked. The woman said that upon further inspection of the vehicle, words had been scratched into the paint on the hood of her car. The woman said she believed the suspects that were standing around her vehicle when she exited the club were responsible for the damage, but she was unable to prove it.

Theft by taking

A man reported June 21 that someone had stolen three of his window air conditioning units from a rental house in the 100 block of Deacon J. Simmons Road. The man said the last time he saw the window units in the residence was approximately five to six weeks ago and he did not know of any possible suspects.



Milledgeville Police Department

Theft by Shoplifting


A female employee of Belk, located in the Milledgeville Mall, reported July 5 that an unknown black female took clothing items from the store. The complainant advised the black female was wearing an army green shirt, a khaki hat and had a metallic striped purse, and the woman took a pair of turquoise shorts valued at $40 and a green tank top valued at $24. The complainant advised that the subject left the store with the items in her purse and she attempted to follow the suspect, but lost contact with the subject inside of the mall.
