MILLEDGEVILLE — The following is information compiled from public records taken from reports of the Milledgeville Police Department and the Baldwin County Sheriff’s Office. It is our policy to not disclose the names of victims. These reports do not reflect guilt or innocence. An “arrest” does not always indicate incarceration. The charges filed are noted in the narrative.
Baldwin County Sheriff’s Office
— Burglary
A woman reported July 9 that she left her residence, in the 2500 block of Belfair Drive, and returned an hour later to find that her residence had been broken in to. The woman said the only thing missing was a 42-inch Emerson TV, which was taken from her bedroom off a small stand next to the bed. A neighbor stated that he saw two dark-skinned black males walking down the road with a TV and the males appeared to be in their teens.
— Burglary
A man reported July 10 that he returned home from work and noticed that his front door, in the 100 block of Bell Avenue, was ajar. The man said he noticed that a 50-inch flat screen TV and several pieces of jewelry were taken from the home.
Milledgeville Police Department
— Criminal trespass
A man flagged down an officer July 10 and stated that he had a female subject in his vehicle and the vehicle was shot at. The man said that there were four shots fired into the driver’s side of the vehicle. Three detectives arrived on scene and retrieved a bullet from the driver’s side front door and placed it into evidence. The man said he was unsure where his vehicle was shot at on Grimes Avenue. Detectives rode around in the area, but they were unable to locate the incident location.
— Entering auto
The owner of Capital Transmission, located in the 900 block of South Jefferson Street, reported July 14 that he locked up the business on the previous day and all appeared to be secure, but when he returned the following day and made rounds around 8 a.m., he found that someone had cut the barbwire on top of the fence on the front right corner behind the dumpster and entered the yard where they keep the vehicles to be worked on. The man said four vehicles and a storage building in the back of the business were entered. Nothing was taken from the storage building, but one vehicle had a CD player taken from it.
— Disorderly conduct
A woman came to the Milledgeville Police Department July 14 and stated that her daughter had not been following the rules of the residence and had also been taking items from the home and she was tired of arguing with her daughter about her curfew and wished to have her daughter trespassed from the residence. The officer spoke with Baldwin County Solicitor General Maxine Blackwell who stated that the daughter could be trespassed because she was 18 years old, and the officer had the 18-year-old woman sign a notice of prohibited entry from the home on Cords Bridge Road. The officer advised the woman that if she wished to get items from the residence, she needed to call the police department and have an officer escort her. The office also advised the woman to see the solicitor the next date in reference to the case.
