The following is information compiled from public records taken from reports of the Milledgeville Police Department and the Baldwin County Sheriff’s Office. These reports do not reflect guilt or innocence. An “arrest” does not always indicate incarceration. The charges filed are noted in the narrative.

Milledgeville Police Department

— Entering an auto

A man reported that sometime in the night, someone broke the driver’s side window of his white 1995 Buick Century and took an Alpine stereo, damaging the dash in the process at a home in the 100 block of West Bryant Street Thursday night.

— Shoplifting

A loss prevention officer reported that she saw a woman taking clothing items from a department store in the 2500 block of North Columbia Street Thursday around 1:30 p.m. The clothing was valued at $50, and the suspected shoplifter was trespassed from the store and was arrested. Police arrested Keturah Hurt, 24 of 113 Robert Williams Jr. Drive, Eatonton, and charged her with theft by shoplifting.

— Fraud, illegal use of credit cards

A man reported that an unknown person used his Chase VISA card without his permission at a GameStop in Woodstock on New Year’s Eve to make a purchase totaling $211.99. The man reported the theft to his credit card company.

— Burglary

A man reported that sometime within the past few days, someone broke into a North Jefferson Street church by forcing entry through a window. The door to the church clerk’s office was also damaged and appeared to be kicked in. Nothing was determined to be missing.
