MILLEDGEVILLE — Theft by taking

Officers were dispatched to a Sherry Circle address in regards to a report of a stolen package. A man informed officers that he ordered a ring valued at $1,000 through the mail and it was expected to be delivered by UPS to his home March 3. He requested no deliveries to be made after 2 p.m. because no one would be home. When he did not receive his package, he called UPS and was informed that his package was left on his porch at approximately 4:30 p.m.



Theft by taking

   A man at the Georgia War Veterans Home reported the theft of two $20 bills and nine $1 bills March 1. He told officers that sometime during the night, he noticed the bills were missing from his bedside.       



Theft by shoplifting

Mall security reported the theft of six polo-style shirts from Belk department store at approximately 8:11 p.m. March 5. The security officer said he witnessed a man grab a stack of shirts on the display stand and run out of the store.



Theft by shoplifting

The owner of a North Jefferson Street liquor store reported the theft of a bottle of wine by a man at approximately 1:49 p.m. March 2. While the owner was speaking to another customer, the man grabbed the bottle of wine and tried to leave the store without paying. Video footage from the store’s surveillance camera recorded the theft.
