The following is information compiled from public records taken from reports of the Milledgeville Police Department and the Baldwin County Sheriff’s Office. These reports do not reflect guilt or innocence. An “arrest” does not always indicate incarceration. The charges filed are noted in the narrative.



Baldwin County Sheriff’s Office

— Burglary

A man reported a break-in at his Old Williams-burg home early Sunday afternoon and the theft of a washer and dryer, a stove and three window air-conditioning units. The owner of the home lives out of town and was last at the home three weeks ago. The theft occurred sometime within the past three weeks.

— Fraud financial identity

A woman reported last week that while taking care of her son’s finances while he is in the U.S. Navy she discovered a delinquent bill for more than $1,400 that appears to be fraudulent.

— Theft by shoplifting

A woman reported that a man ran out of a convenience store with two 24-packs of beer Saturday around midnight. As the man left the clerk was able to get a tag number from the vehicle he left in. Deputies made contact with the owner of the vehicle and are still investigating the shoplifting theft.

— Theft by taking

A woman was leaving to cash her paycheck Friday and realized she had left it in her home . She sent her friend in to get her check which was inside an envelope. She dropped the friend off then got to the check cashing location and realized her check was not in the envelope. She has since been unable to locate the check and is attempting to have the check canceled.

— Identity fraud

A woman discovered that as she attempted to make a call from her phone that the phone did not work. She contacted the company where a representative told her the account had been changed to another person’s name. She was unable to obtain the name of the person who switched her account and had just purchased $50 worth of minutes for the phone.
