The following is information compiled from public records taken from reports of the Milledgeville Police Department and the Baldwin County Sheriff’s Office. These reports do not reflect guilt or innocence. An “arrest” does not always indicate incarceration. The charges filed are noted in the narrative.



Milledgeville Police Department

— Disorderly conduct

A convenience store employee reported that Friday, Oct. 16, around 10 p.m., someone walked into the store on Vinson Highway to pay for gas and was approached by five to seven black males who had been outside of the store. The group began making gang-related threats to the man when he allegedly turned and struck one of the men, according to the report. A fight ensued and was broken up by the victim’s mother, according to the report.

— Burglary

Someone reported a burglary at a residence on East Thomas Street sometime around midnight Saturday. According to the report, two laptop computers were stolen.

— Shoplifting

Someone reported the theft of a package of ribeye steaks from a grocery store on North Columbia Street Saturday around 4:15 a.m. Thirty-three year-old Cornelius Moss of Queens Court was charged with shoplifting and was trespassed from the store, according to the report.

— Burglary

Someone reported a burglary at a home on North Tatnall Street Monday around 3 p.m. The homeowner reported that her home had been ransacked and reported the theft of a set of house keys, an Xbox, a laptop computer, a pair of tennis shoes, a BB gun, a digital camera and two book bags.

— Fraud

A woman reported that between Oct. 9 and 16, someone used her MidSouth Federal Credit Union card online to make an unauthorized purchase totaling $75.55 according to a police report.

— Larceny

Someone reported the theft of four newspapers and two magazines from her mailbox at a home on Irish Lane sometime Monday, according to a police report.

— Shoplifting

Someone reported the theft of two boxes of instant coffee from a coffee shop drive-through on North Columbia Street Monday around 3 p.m.

— Shoplifting

Someone reported that Tuesday, around 4 p.m., someone took items into a rest room at a pharmacy on North Columbia Street and removed the items from the packaging, then left the store in a white Ford Crown Victoria or Mercury Marquis.

— Theft by taking

Someone reported that a customer in a hotel room on Hancock Street took a television set, bedspread and room key sometime Monday night or Tuesday morning.

— Disorderly conduct

Someone reported that a man was causing a public disturbance by asking patrons of the downtown farmer’s market for money Tuesday sometime between 11 a.m. and 3 p.m.

— Disorderly conduct

Someone reported that when she was in her yard playing with her children, two women confronted her about a text message and began jumping on her, according to a police report. One of the two women said that the victim began yelling at them from her yard, confronting them and provoking a fight and striking one of the women.

— Burglary

Someone reported a burglary at a home on McIntosh Street sometime Monday night or Tuesday and reported the theft of two Xboxes and a Zune mp3 player.



Baldwin County Sheriff’s Department

— Burglary

Someone reported a break-in at a home on Wolverine Street sometime over the weekend and the subsequent theft of a Playstation 3, and around $300 in loose change was missing.

— Bomb threat

Someone reported a bomb threat made toward the Baldwin County 911 center around 2:15 Tuesday, Oct. 20. The building was searched and cleared.

— Burglary

Someone reported a break-in at a home on Wolverine Street sometime between Sunday and Tuesday, and the subsequent theft of a pair of boots, a laptop computer, a 27-inch TV, a skill saw, a circular saw and Milwaukee drill.

— Burglary

Someone reported a that someone broke out a bedroom window and entered a home on Park Avenue Tuesday, around 11:15 a.m.
