Crime Digest, October 22, 2009

The following is information compiled from public records taken from reports of the Milledgeville Police Department and the Baldwin County Sheriff’s Office. These reports do not reflect guilt or innocence. An “arrest” does not always indicate incarceration. The charges filed are noted in the narrative.

Milledgeville Police Department

— Criminal trespass

A woman reported Oct. 8 that she wished to have a man trespassed from her property in the 1100 block of S. Warren St. The trespass paperwork was completed, but the officer was unable to make contact with the subject at his residence.

— Disorderly conduct

An officer on foot patrol the evening of Oct. 8 in the downtown area saw an 18-year-old female peeing on the sidewalk near the Milledge-ville-Baldwin County Convention and Visitors Bureau. The officer then took the subject into custody and charged her with disorderly conduct. The suspect further told the officer that she had a beer prior to coming downtown.

— Burglary

An officer responded to the 800 block of South Elbert Street Oct. 9 in reference to an alarm. Upon arrival, the officer noticed that the bottom of the back door had been knocked off and another door had been damaged. Upon arrival by the key holder, officers looked inside of the business and it did not appear as though anything was missing. Upon further investigation, the officer noticed that a large movie shelf had fallen over in the back room when the bottom part of the back door had been kicked in and also found that the power meter had been taken from the side of the building.

— Disorderly conduct

An officer working a downtown detail Oct. 9 when an unknown male came to him and said a very intoxicated person threatened to stab him and his girlfriend. When the reporting officer approached him, the suspect walked back inside and the officer detained him. The reporting officer then asked the suspect if he had a knife and he responded that he did have one and told him where it was located. The officer then instructed the suspect to leave the area because the complainant did not want to press charges, but the suspect refused to leave and was therefore arrested and charged with disorderly conduct.
