The following is information compiled from public records taken from reports of the Milledgeville Police Department and the Baldwin County Sheriff’s Office. — Simple battery
A woman reported July 6 that she was going to one of the buildings at the Milledgeville Manor, located in the 1400 block of South Jefferson Street, and she met her boyfriend at the door. The woman said the man began yelling at her and calling her names, and then he pushed her. The woman said she attempted to push him back when he grabbed her by the wrist and neck. The man slapped her on the left cheek and spit on her right cheek and then left the area. The deputy looked at the woman’s face and neck and did not see any marks substantiating her information. No arrests or warrants were taken in the case.
— Theft by taking
A woman reported July 2 that an unknown person had taken her lawnmower without her permission from her home in the 2700 block of Vinson Highway. The woman said that she last saw the mower behind her residence and several hours later she noticed the item was missing. The woman said she heard several vehicles traveling by her residence, but did not see or hear anyone come onto her property. The mower is described as a green Sears Craftsman push mower.
Milledgeville Police Department
— Simple assault
An officer made contact with a female complainant July 10 at Sonic, located in the 1600 block of North Columbia Street, and the woman stated that she and a 19-year-old female co-worker had been arguing on and off all day and the other woman told the complainant to stay on the other side of their workspace. At the time, the female complainant went over to the other woman and asked what she was going to do if she did not stay on her side of the workspace, and according to witnesses in the area, the other woman grabbed the female complainant by the throat and shoved her back. At that point, the manager of the business stepped in and separated the two women. The female offender was subsequently terminated and left the area prior to law enforcement arrival. After reviewing the witness statements and speaking to those who were present at the time of the incident, a warrant on the charge of simple battery was secured for the 19-year-old ex-employee.
