MILLEDGEVILLE —  Theft by taking

A man reported the theft of $100 at a North Columbia Street department store at approximately 3:57 p.m. Feb. 28. When paying for items at self-checkout in Walmart, the man forgot he requested $100 cash back from his debit card transaction. The store surveillance camera recorded the man in line behind him taking the money and placing it in his pocket.

Criminal damage to property

Officers were dispatched to West Thomas Street address in reference to a 911 call of loud noises heard in the area. At approximately 10:53 p.m. Feb. 25 a man at a North Pickens Street residence informed officers that he heard the sound of glass breaking behind his home. Officers searched the area and found the rear windows of the home were broken out.



Criminal damage to property

While on patrol Feb. 27 in the area of North Wayne Street and West Hancock Street, an officer noticed that someone had pulled up the flowers from the large decorative planter boxes located on the side of North Wayne Street. It appeared that the unknown person(s) had pulled up the flowers and thrown them onto the sidewalk. Upon further inspection, the officer also found that all five planter boxes in the area had been damaged.
