MILLEDGEVILLE —

The following is information compiled from public records taken from reports of the Milledgeville Police Department and the Baldwin County Sheriff's Office. It is our policy to not disclose the names of victims. These reports do not reflect guilt or innocence. An “arrest” does not always indicate incarceration. The charges filed are noted in the narrative.

Milledgeville Police Department

Counterfeit

An employee at a North Columbia Street grocery store reported a fake $50 bill received on Jan. 8. A woman tried to purchase food items with the counterfeit bill but the texture and look of the money did not appear authentic to the cashier.

Theft by Shoplifting

A Walmart Loss Prevention employee reported that two men cut the wires to three laptops on display in the electronics area and attempted to leave the store at approximately 5 p.m. Jan. 9. The men were seen on the surveillance camera placing the computers in their pants.

Criminal Trespass

An employee at a North Columbia Street restaurant reported a suspicious man rummaging through the garbage trash bins behind the building around 10:33 p.m. Jan. 2. When questioned, the man placed his hands in his pockets and ran away.

Entering Auto

A woman reported that an unknown person had broken into her vehicle while it was parked on North Clark Street sometime between Jan. 5 and Jan. 7. She parked her car downtown and walked to her friend's apartment. Upon returning, she discovered the driver's side car window was broken. A GPS navigator was reported missing from the vehicle.

Burglary

A woman reported a break-in at her mother's Jefferson Street residence sometime between Dec. 29 and Jan. 1. The home has been empty for approximately two years. A washer and dryer set was reported missing from the residence.
