The following is information compiled from public records taken from reports of the Milledgeville Police Department and the Baldwin County Sheriff’s Office. These reports do not reflect guilt or innocence. An “arrest” does not always indicate incarceration. The charges filed are noted in the narrative.

Baldwin County Sheriff’s Office

— Gunshot wound

A deputy was dispatched to the 100 block of J.F. Hall Road Feb. 3 in reference to an accidental self-inflicted gunshot wound. Upon arrival, the deputy made contact with a 50-year-old man who was bleeding out of his leg. The man stated that he was loading his .357 caliber revolver and when he closed the cylinder, the weapon discharged and the projectile hit him in the leg. The deputy observed a wound on the man’s thigh and in his calf and it appeared that the projectile grazed his right thigh and went into his right upper calf where it lodged. EMS arrived on scene and transported the man to the Macon Medical Center. The man told the deputy, prior to leaving with EMS, where he had left the firearm following the incident and the deputy observed the firearm laying on the couch, where the man was sitting when he shot himself. The deputy unloaded the gun and took custody of it. The weapon was taken into evidence, along with five live rounds and one spent round, and will be returned to the owner now that the investigation is complete. All evidence showed that the gunshot wound was accidental.

— Entering auto

A woman reported Feb. 3 that someone stole her CD player out of her 1989 Mercury Marquis while it was parked under the carport at her residence in the 100 block of Hollingshed Avenue. The man stated that the incident happened sometime between 6 a.m. and 3 p.m. The deputy observed that the offender had left the driver’s side door slightly ajar, but no other items were reported missing from the vehicle. No suspects were named in the process of filing the report.

An employee of Belk at the Milledgeville Mall reported that she observed a white female with shoulder-length dark brown hair, wearing a green shirt and blue jeans, walk out of the dressing room carrying a green purse that she did not enter the dressing room with.
