The following is information compiled from public records taken from reports of the Milledgeville Police Department and the Baldwin County Sheriff’s Office. These reports do not reflect guilt or innocence. An “arrest” does not always indicate incarceration. The charges filed are noted in the narrative.

— Theft by taking
A man reported Feb. 1 that an unknown party removed a pistol, 100 bullets and a holster from his bedroom dresser at his home in the 1200 block of Ga. Highway 212. The man said the items were taken sometime between Jan. 27 and Feb. 1, and he doesn’t believe his residence was broken into because no other items were taken and both doors to the home were secure. The man said he believed that a man with the last name McCoy might have taken the items, as he is currently dating his daughter and frequently has access to the home. The man’s daughter said that her boyfriend did not take the items and has never seen him with the firearm or any other firearm.
— Burglary
A man reported Feb. 2 that he entered his home, in the 200 block of Admiralty Way and noticed a cabinet door in the dining area that was open. After further inspection, the man found the back porch door unlocked and he knew that he had locked it before leaving the home. The man said he discovered two diamond necklaces, two Nintendo DS game systems, one Nintendo Wii game system and $300 in coins missing from the home. A deputy conducted a perimeter check and discovered a side door to the basement unlocked, which is believed to be the entry point. The deputy also noticed footprints in the lawn leading from the back porch to the front of the residence.

— Criminal damage to property
An officer responded to the 1200 block of North Elbert Street Jan. 29 in reference to someone throwing something at a woman’s windshield. Upon arrival, the officer found the complainant still in the roadway, standing by her car, and she claimed that a 27-year-old female threw something at her vehicle that shattered the windshield. She then pointed out the suspect, who was standing in the roadway at the intersection of North Elbert Street and Grimes Avenue.
— Criminal damage to property
A woman reported Jan. 29 that while she was at New Life Fellowship, located in the 1800 block of Vinson Highway, she noticed a large dent on the driver’s side rear door, just above the door molding of her silver Dodge Ram King Cab truck. The woman said that she noticed multiple scratches along the driver’s side of her vehicle above the molding between the front and rear tires.
