MILLEDGEVILLE — The following is information compiled from public records taken from reports of the Milledgeville Police Department and the Baldwin County Sheriff’s Office. It is our policy to not disclose the names of victims. These reports do not reflect guilt or innocence. An “arrest” does not always indicate incarceration. The charges filed are noted in the narrative.



Baldwin County Sheriff’s Office

— Obstruction of Officers

A man sought by deputies on an outstanding warrant was taken into custody at a Hardwick Street apartment clouded with smoke from marijuana use around 7:30 p.m. Feb. 13. He was charged with obstruction of officers after initially refusing to come out of the apartment bathroom when deputies told him to.

— Marijuana Possession

A man was arrested and charged with marijuana possession following a traffic stop on Highway 49 for speeding around 12:30 p.m. Feb. 13.

— Financial Identity Fraud

A man reported that someone illegally used his social security number while preparing income tax returns sometime before Feb. 13.

— Obstruction of Officers

A man sought on an outstanding warrant was arrested and charged with obstruction of officers after fleeing from deputies at a Highland Avenue address around 3 p.m. Feb. 13.

— Criminal Attempt to Commit Theft

A deputy responded to a Swint Avenue residence where a woman reported that someone damaged a chain link fence in an apparent attempt to steal it Feb. 14.

— Underage Possession of Alcohol

An underage couple were both arrested following a drunken altercation at the intersection of Stewart Drive and Waits Road around 2:50 a.m. Feb. 12.

— Obstruction of Officers

A man was arrested and charged with obstruction of officers after knowingly giving false information to tow to deputies investigating a motorcycle accident near Ogden Road around 6:10 p.m. Feb. 4.

— Criminal Trespass

A man reported that someone broke into his Lavern Circle house and disturbed a bedroom sometime between 7 p.m. Feb. 8 and 6 a.m. the following day.



Milledgeville Police Department

— Theft by Taking

A man reported Feb. 8 that someone took a check from his mailbox and attempted to cash it in Montgomery, Ala. The man was arrested in Alabama.

— Financial Identity Fraud

Bank personnel reported that an account holder had three income tax refund checks deposited into her account from three different people sometime before Feb. 8. The account was frozen and the bank is attempting to recover a total of $11,109.

— Shoplifting

A Walmart loss prevention employee reported that two females attempted to leave the store without paying for merchandise around 8:20 p.m. Feb. 11.
