Unlicensed Driver
While patrolling in the area of South Elbert Street near East Andrews Street a vehicle registered on the radar at a speed of 57 miles per hour — 17 miles over the posted 40 miles per hour speed limit. Upon initiating a traffic stop for speeding, the driver was also cited for driving without a license.
Burglary
Deputies were dispatched to a Vinson Highway apartment in reference to a burglary in progress at approximately 9:09 p.m. March 18. Once the area was cleared, deputies discovered an open window in the living room and sofa cushions on the floor. A flat screen television wrapped in a black bed sheet was laying at the entrance of the front door.
Theft by Taking
A woman reported the theft of a bed from an Ellis Street residence she was renting out to a female. The woman informed deputies that she evicted the previous renter for unpaid rent. When checking on the home around 12:16 p.m. March 18, she discovered that a bed was missing from the residence.
